Having a heart attack is dangerous; it could take your life. That's why people that survive heart attacks are lucky. Troy Bowling had a heart attack in March of 2010 and he was lucky enough to survive it. Then, just two weeks later, while recovering, he bought a scratchoff lotto ticket from Hoosier Lottery called 20X The Money. He got lucky again. Troy won $150,000. He was twice lucky in March of 2010! Sometimes it takes a near-death experience to realize that life is short. You might not have the time to do everything that you want to in life because life could be cut short at any moment. People that have been close to dying realize this and many of them take advantage of whatever time they have left and actually do the things that they want to do.
Troy Bowling is one of the guys that realized that life is short. That's why he plans to use the money to do what he had always wanted to do - Troy plans to buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle and ride it to Alaska with a friend this summer.
At the time of his win, Troy Bowling was living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You know what the distance is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Juneau, Alaska? 3219 miles. That's a trip that would require 60 hours, 56 minutes of total driving time. That'll be an awesome road trip!

A lot of people buy their lottery tickets from one lotto retailer. They keep buying from the same store. Often, they will tell the retailer that if they win the jackpot, they will come back and give him a tip. Do you do this? Are you the type of person that would come back and give the lotto retailer a tip if you won big? How much would you give? Did you know that if a big jackpot is won, the store that sold the ticket would get a nice commission for selling it? Would this info change your mind about giving a tip?

However, he didn't claim his prize until early April.
When you win the lottery, what are you going to do with the winning ticket? My guess is that you will hide it until you go to claim your prize; you definitely won't advertise to the world that you're a big winner until you get your prize, right?
Marquis Mitchell worked for the Atlanta Fire Department for more than thirty years. He served as the Atlanta Fire Department Chief from 1994 to 1998, when he retired. That means that for more than 30 years, he adhered to the fire department's mission statement - To prevent or mitigate harm to life, property and the environment. He helped the community for a long time and now it was time for the community to give back to him. And, they did - Marquis won the lottery!
Here is my rule if you win the lottery - If you win a big enough jackpot, you need to give at least one close friend or family member enough to retire. Why? Because if everybody around you has to work, you won't have anybody to do things with, like travel.
Do you keep spending money on lottery tickets but never win big? Many of us do. So did Albert Mohrbacher Jr (Pictured here with his wife). He used to play all of the games that Wisconsin Lottery had to offer. That included Powerball, Mega Millions, MegaBucks, SuperCash and Badger 5. But he spent too much money buying tickets. So he stopped. He stopped buying all games except for MegaBucks.

That ticket holder was Bonnie Preece, a woman from London, Ontario, who claimed her prize on the first business day following the draw. The second ticket holder waited until April 1st to claim her prize. That ticket holder was a woman named Joanne Tsetta, from Edmonton, Alberta.
Illinois Lottery has a pretty cool game called "Little Lotto." It's cool because the odds of winning the jackpot in the game are quite decent. The jackpots aren't as huge as they are in other games like Powerball or Mega Millions. However, they are decent enough. The jackpots in Little Lotto start at $100,000 and they continue to grow if they are not won. But get this - You are about 340 times more likely to win the Little Lotto jackpot than you are the Powerball jackpot if you buy just a single ticket for each game. That's why I like the Little Lotto game!
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are approximately 1-in-175-million. That's Dane Colby in the picture with his wife, Julie, getting a ceremonial check for $20 million. They beat the odds to win the Mega Millions jackpot!
Have you ever been at the store, lining up to pay for something, and witnessed somebody wanting to cancel their lottery ticket that they just had printed? There are many different reasons why people end up canceling lottery tickets, but it's usually because the retailer printed out the wrong game. Anyway, I'm going to give you a little tip - Don't ever let anybody cancel a ticket; just buy it yourself. Why? I've heard of a few stories about people not wanting their ticket (Either canceling them or letting somebody else take them) and then those tickets end up being big winners.
