Then, just two weeks later, while recovering, he bought a scratchoff lotto ticket from Hoosier Lottery called 20X The Money. He got lucky again. Troy won $150,000. He was twice lucky in March of 2010!
Sometimes it takes a near-death experience to realize that life is short. You might not have the time to do everything that you want to in life because life could be cut short at any moment. People that have been close to dying realize this and many of them take advantage of whatever time they have left and actually do the things that they want to do.
Troy Bowling is one of the guys that realized that life is short. That's why he plans to use the money to do what he had always wanted to do - Troy plans to buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle and ride it to Alaska with a friend this summer.
At the time of his win, Troy Bowling was living in Fort Wayne, Indiana. You know what the distance is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Juneau, Alaska? 3219 miles. That's a trip that would require 60 hours, 56 minutes of total driving time. That'll be an awesome road trip!

Frank Proud - Easy Pick Lotto Winner Gives Tip To Retailer

Frank Proud - Tip To Lotto RetailerA lot of people buy their lottery tickets from one lotto retailer. They keep buying from the same store. Often, they will tell the retailer that if they win the jackpot, they will come back and give him a tip. Do you do this? Are you the type of person that would come back and give the lotto retailer a tip if you won big? How much would you give? Did you know that if a big jackpot is won, the store that sold the ticket would get a nice commission for selling it? Would this info change your mind about giving a tip?

Frank Proud is one of those guys that always bought his lottery tickets from the same store. The clerk would always joke that, if he won, he would need to come back and buy her a pack of gum. Then he did win. In April of 2010, Frank bought $6 worth of Easy Pick Powerball tickets. One of them won $1 million. The very first thing he did was he went back to the store and asked the retailer to pick out a pack of gum for herself. He paid for it with a one hundred dollar bill and told her to keep the change. Nice tip!

$100 is not too bad. However, had Frank Proud won an even bigger jackpot like, say, $100 million, he would have to give her a lot more than $100. Otherwise, he would just look really cheap.

At the time of his win, Frank Proud was living in Durbin, West Virginia, with his wife, Patricia. Frank was working as a certified public accountant and Patricia was a retired bed-and-breakfast operator. When asked what they planned to do with the money, they said that they'd probably buy a new car. Other than that, they didn't really know what else they would be doing with the money.

Lottery Winner Jennifer Sabia To Build House In Vermont

Jennifer Sabia - Lottery WinnerJennifer Sabia and her husband, Joe, live in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Retirement is in their near future and they plan to build a house in Vermont, where they would spend their retirement years. However, building that house was still a while away.

It's good to have dreams and goals for the future. However, sometimes those dreams could quickly change. That was the case for Jennifer Sabia in April of 2010. That's when she stopped into the 7-11 to pick up an instant scratch lotto ticket. She bought a game called $100,000,000 Diamond Mine. To win a prize in that game, you must scratch the playing surface and have one of your numbers match one of the winning numbers to win the prize shown. Here's what Jennifer said happened when she scratched: "When I saw the pair of 29's and $200,000 prize on the ticket I thought... no way!" Ya, Jennifer was a new lottery winner! That lottery money is what changed her dreams about building the house in Vermont; she and her husband will now be able to do it sooner rather than later!

Jennifer Sabia believes that everything happens for a reason. The day she won the lottery, she was on her way to do some grocery shopping. While on her way to the grocery store, she realized that she forgot her check-book. So she went back home to get it. While heading home, she stopped at the 7-11 to pick up a lottery ticket. That's when she won the $200,000. If she did not forget her check-book that day, she would not have won the lottery. That was the reason that she forgot her check-book that day - She was destined to win the lottery!

Aside from building her new house in Vermont, Jennifer Sabia also plans to invest some of the money in her grandchildren's education.

Robert And Susan McIntosh - Lottery Winners' Dogs Are Best In Show

Robert and Susan McIntosh - Best In ShowRobert and Susan McIntosh love their Akita Dogs. They love them so much that they enter them into shows. They actually have a puppy that has won the "Best In Show" prize. They'd love to get more dogs and enter them into more shows, but that takes a lot of time, especially since Robert works full-time as an engineer and is often away from home.

If only Robert and Susan McIntosh could win the lottery; they would have more time to spend with their dogs. Their dreams have actually been answered; Robert won £4.4 million in the Lotto draw on April 17, 2010. That works out to $6,799,944 USD. Now they plan to do just that - They plan to get more dogs, spend more time with them, and enter them into more shows. They're gonna live the life!

Winning the lottery has been a whirlwind for this UK couple. In fact, a week after winning, it was Susan's birthday. And, with all the excitement surrounding the lottery win, Robert totally forgot to buy her a birthday present. I think Susan will forgive him, given the circumstances - But it better not happen again!

What else do Robert And Susan McIntosh plan to do with their new-found wealth? They plan on getting a new car and a new house. They also want to share with family and friends. The couples' youngest daughter will also get a trip to Florida as it had always been a dream of hers to visit the sunshine state.

Iowa Powerball Power Play Winner David Lyons

David Lyons - Iowa Powerball WinnerDavid Lyons is the latest Iowa Powerball Power Play winner. He won $1 million. He bought his winning ticket at the Short Stop store in Ankeny, Iowa (Just outside of Des Moines), where he usually buys his tickets. That was for a Powerball drawing in late March. However, he didn't claim his prize until early April.

In the few days that it took him to claim his prize, the rumor mill in Ankeny, Iowa went off the charts. The store knew that they had sold the winning million dollar ticket and correctly figured out that it was David that had bought it. They told someone and that someone told someone else until everybody was talking about it. It's hard to keep a secret like winning a million dollars!

David Lyons was actually a big-time lottery player. He normally bought over $50 worth of tickets every week. That's a lot of money to be spending on lottery tickets. But, alas, his big payoff finally came!

At the time of his win, David Lyons was 60-years-old and working the night-shift at Wal-Mart, where his job was to stock shelves. He said that he would remain working at Wal-Mart, at least for the time-being.

When asked what his plans were now that he had won $1 million, David replied, "I haven't really though about it. I still don't really believe that I won. But I guess I have!"

Robert Boehm Puts Winning Lottery Ticket In An Envelope Marked As Such

Robert Boehm - Winning Lottery Ticket In EnvelopeWhen you win the lottery, what are you going to do with the winning ticket? My guess is that you will hide it until you go to claim your prize; you definitely won't advertise to the world that you're a big winner until you get your prize, right?

That's why I had a good laugh when I heard what Robert Boehm did with his winning ticket. He put it in an envelope marked "WINNING LOTTERY TICKET." Funny! He probably should have also bought a t-shirt that read, "Lottery Winner." Maybe he could have even put a "Lottery Winner" sticker on the back windshield of his car. That way, everybody would know!

Robert Boehm won $1 million in Mega Millions in April of 2010 by matching the first five numbers. Normally, that would win a prize of $250,000. But Robert spent an extra dollar when he purchased his ticket to pay for the Megaplier option, which turned the $250,000 into $1 million.

Another funny part of Robert Boehm's story is when he found out that he was a winner. He gave his Mega Millions tickets to a store clerk to have them checked. When she checked them, she told him that they don't have enough money to pay out his prize (Obviously, because it was a million dollars). She then asked him to guess how much he won. Robert figured that it was a few thousand dollars. Boy, was he ever off on his estimate! Robert was off by almost a million dollars!

At the time of his win, Robert Boehm was 60-years-old and living in Denison, Iowa. He worked a job that required him to work long hours hauling fertilizer.

Marquis Mitchell - Retired Atlanta Fire Department Chief Wins Lottery

Marquis Mitchell - Atlanta Fire ChiefMarquis Mitchell worked for the Atlanta Fire Department for more than thirty years. He served as the Atlanta Fire Department Chief from 1994 to 1998, when he retired. That means that for more than 30 years, he adhered to the fire department's mission statement - To prevent or mitigate harm to life, property and the environment. He helped the community for a long time and now it was time for the community to give back to him. And, they did - Marquis won the lottery!

Marquis Mitchell won $231,812 playing Georgia Lottery's Fantasy 5 game in April of 2010. To play Fantasy 5, you need to choose 5 numbers out of a possible 39. To win the jackpot, you must match all 5 numbers. The odds of doing so are 1-in-575,757. Marquis beat the odds to win the jackpot!

Marquis Mitchell found out that he won when he called Georgia Lottery's hotline to check his numbers. They all matched and he could not believe it. So he double-checked them online. Sure enough, he was a big winner. That's when he woke up his sleeping wife to tell her the good news: "I was so happy, I woke my wife up. She jumped out of bed and started running around. I had to calm her down!"

At the time of his win, Marquis was 59-year-old and living in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, Ida. The couple have three adult children and six grandchildren. Marquis said that he planned to use the money to pay off some bills and to buy a new fishing boat.

Beverly Bowman Splits Lottery Jackpot With Sister Tammy Taylor

Beverly Bowman & Tammy TaylorHere is my rule if you win the lottery - If you win a big enough jackpot, you need to give at least one close friend or family member enough to retire. Why? Because if everybody around you has to work, you won't have anybody to do things with, like travel.

It seems that Beverly Bowman subscribes to my rule. She won a $2.9 million lottery jackpot from Washington's Lottery. She split the jackpot, down the middle, with her sister, Tammy Taylor. Now, the sisters plan to travel; they plan to take a cruise together with their families. See, that's the way to do it!

Beverly Bowman found out that she won the jackpot while at the store, when she asked the clerk to print out the lotto numbers. One-by-one, she checked the numbers and, one-by-one, they all matched. She started getting excited and that's when the clerk advised her to sign the ticket. She did that, then walked away to leave the store, ticket in hand. That's when the clerk yelled, "Stop! Put that ticket away!" He was right - She shouldn't be walking around with $2.9 million in her hand. So Beverly put the ticket away in her purse.

After the store, Beverly went right over to Tammy's house. Immediately, upon entering, she asked her for a dollar. That was odd, but Tammy gave it to her anyways. That's when Beverly told her sister that she had just bought herself a share of the jackpot that she just won! Nice!

At the time of their win, Beverly Bowman and Tammy Taylor lived in Federal Way, Washington, which is just outside of Seattle. Aside from the cruise, both plan to use the money to pay off bills and Beverly also plans to buy a new car.

Albert Mohrbacher Jr Spent Too Much Money On Lottery Tickets

Albert Mohrbacher Jr - Spent Too Much MoneyDo you keep spending money on lottery tickets but never win big? Many of us do. So did Albert Mohrbacher Jr (Pictured here with his wife). He used to play all of the games that Wisconsin Lottery had to offer. That included Powerball, Mega Millions, MegaBucks, SuperCash and Badger 5. But he spent too much money buying tickets. So he stopped. He stopped buying all games except for MegaBucks.

Albert Mohrbacher Jr kept on buying MegaBucks tickets. Then, one day, in March of 2010, he was in the washroom getting ready for church. That's when his wife, who checked the tickets, gave him some news. This is how he described it: "I was up in the bathroom and I heard footsteps coming up the steps and thought, 'Good, (my wife is) bringing me some coffee' - which she usually does. And I hear her tapping on the door and she slowly pushes it open. And then she opened the door and there's tears running down her face as she's standing there." That's when she told him that they won the lottery!

So Albert stops buying lottery tickets, except for one game, and he finally wins. He spent just $2 on the draw that he won. He won a total of $7.5 million. It just goes to show, you don't need to buy a lot of tickets to win!

At the time of his win, Albert Mohrbacher Jr was in his 60's, retired, and living in Racine Wisconsin with his wife. He said that he planned to use the money to buy a bigger house and, maybe, a new boat.

NY Lottery's $500 A Week For Life Winner Marcos Luciano

Marcos Luciano - $500 A Week For Life WinnerWinning $500 a week for life would be awesome. That would be like having income from a second job without actually having to work. And, getting money without working for it is fantastic.

NY Lottery has an instant scratch game called $500 A Week For Life. It really cool, too, because it costs just $1 to play. That's a great price for a scratch ticket that offers a pretty cool prize. The odds of winning the top prize in the game are approximately 1-in-7.94-million.

Marcos Luciano is a man from the Bronx that likes to play the game. He actually got into playing it because it was recommended by a friend. It's a good thing that his friend recommended it to him because Marcos won the top prize in the game. He now gets $500 a week for the rest of his life. Nice! Here is how he describes it: "A friend of mine plays this particular ticket and told me I should play it. I thought if he likes the game, I might too. I'm guessing I like the game a lot more than he does now."

At the time of his win, Marcos Luciano was 35-years-old and living in the Bronx, New York. The first thing he wants to do, now that he won the lottery, is pay a surprise visit to his 90-year-old grandmother who lives in Dominican Republic.

Melissa Murray Is Pregnant With Cash Baby

Melissa Murray - Cash BabyIn mid-April of 2010, Melissa Murray, of Victoria, BC, was pregnant and about three weeks due to give birth. That is also the time that she won the lottery. When she found out that she won the lottery, she was so excited that she thought that she was going to go into labor on the spot. She said that she felt like the baby was excited too. For that reason, she is seriously considering naming her baby "Cash!" Cash baby, nice!

Melissa Murray won the top prize on BCLC's instant scratch lotto game called Set For Life. Set For Life offers a top prize of $1000 a week for 25 years. However, winners can choose a $675,000 lump-sum payment in lieu of the weekly money. That's what Melissa did; she opted to take the $675,000.

Melissa ended up buying the winning ticket when her boyfriend had a craving for pickled garlic. So they stopped at the supermarket to satisfy his craving. That's when she ended up buying the winning Set For Life instant scratch ticket. If it wasn't for the pickled garlic craving, she would not be rich today!

Here's my prediction - Cash baby is lucky and she (or he) will win the lottery too at some point in her life (and it will be a lot more than $675,000 - probably around $50 million, or so).

Congratulations to Melissa and Cash Baby on their lucky win!

Biggest Israel Lotto Winners Ever - Identities Hidden

Israel Lotto WinnersAbout four months ago, the biggest Israel Lotto jackpot ever was won. The winning ticket was worth 74 million ILS. That works out to $20,029,780 USD. However, nobody stepped forward to claim the prize... Until today, that is.

The winners of Israel Lotto came forward to claim their prize on April 13, 2010. They are pictured here. However, their identities were hidden. They were wearing masks and their names were not released to the public. In North America (and in the UK), we are used to having the names and pictures of lottery winners released. However, in other parts of the world, privacy is important and that's usually because of safety concerns. Just check out this Jamaican lottery winner, for example; he was wearing a disguise too.

Why did it take so long for this couple to claim the Israel lotto jackpot? They didn't even know that they had won. The lotto ticket was stashed at the bottom of a pile of papers. Finally, they got around to checking it and realized that they had matched all of the numbers.

So what do the unidentified couple plan to do with their winnings? They said that they had no idea what they would do. However, they did plan to give some of it to charity.

Joanne Tsetta - Edmonton Lotto 649 Winner

Joanne Tsetta - Edmonton Lottery WinnerThe March 20, 2010 Lotto 649 jackpot was estimated to be $41 million. By the time ticket sales were counted, the jackpot slightly exceeded the $41 million estimate. There were two winning tickets sold for that draw, each worth $20,664,574. The first ticket holder wasted no time claiming her prize. That ticket holder was Bonnie Preece, a woman from London, Ontario, who claimed her prize on the first business day following the draw. The second ticket holder waited until April 1st to claim her prize. That ticket holder was a woman named Joanne Tsetta, from Edmonton, Alberta.

Joanne Tsetta seemed nonchalant about winning so much money. In fact, before she even claimed her prize, an unidentified woman witnessed her checking the ticket at the retailer. The retailer scanned the ticket and told Joanne that it looked like she won $2 million. The unidentified woman had a look at the printout and corrected the retailer. She told her that she had, in fact, actually won over $20 million. Joanne's response to that news was, "Oh, OK." She stood there for a few moments and then just left the store. There was absolutely no emotion or excitement in her.

At the time of her win, Joanne Tsetta was 40-years-old and living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She was in school, studying to earn her grade 12 diploma.

Joanne Tsetta said that she planned to use the money to pay off some bills, buy a new car, and pay for her kids' education. Beyond that, she just wants to spend some time with her family and "go with the flow."

Illinois Little Lotto Winner Margie Mason

Illinois Little Lotto WinnerIllinois Lottery has a pretty cool game called "Little Lotto." It's cool because the odds of winning the jackpot in the game are quite decent. The jackpots aren't as huge as they are in other games like Powerball or Mega Millions. However, they are decent enough. The jackpots in Little Lotto start at $100,000 and they continue to grow if they are not won. But get this - You are about 340 times more likely to win the Little Lotto jackpot than you are the Powerball jackpot if you buy just a single ticket for each game. That's why I like the Little Lotto game!

Margie Mason, who is pictured here, is one of the most recent Little Lotto winners. She won $325,000. She describes the moment that she found out that she won as shocking. She said that she always dreamed about winning the lottery and, now, it finally happened for her. She was so excited, that she even went to the salon to get her hair done before going in to Illinois Lottery's prize claim office to collect her winnings. After, all, she needed to look good for the inevitable pictures!

Margie Mason has some advice for other lottery players: "Just stick in there, you never know. Anybody can win." Good advice!

What does Margie plan to do with her winnings? Well, for starters, she has had her eye on a particular refrigerator for a while and, now, she plans on buying it. Besides that, she plans to pay off her bills and buy a used car.

Dane Colby Beats The Odds To Win Mega Millions Jackpot

Dane ColbyThe odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are approximately 1-in-175-million. That's Dane Colby in the picture with his wife, Julie, getting a ceremonial check for $20 million. They beat the odds to win the Mega Millions jackpot!

Dane and Julie Colby won the March 12, 2010 Mega Millions jackpot of $20 million. They waited about a month before going in to claim their prize, which they finally did on April 13. Now they are $20 million richer, but that won't change their lifestyles much.

Dane and Julie don't want much to change, at least in the beginning. They plan on living in the same house in Hennepin, Illinois (Which is just outside of Chicago) and plan to continue to work. They don't want the money to change how they live, although they admit that it eventually will. However, what they really want is the money to be a legacy for their family, especially their children's long-term welfare. So, they plan on investing most of the money.

So there you have it, the couple win a big prize and nothing much will change in their lives. There are no plans on big purchases. They do plan on taking the kids to Disney World; however, that trip was planned before they even won the lottery.

These folks are not like typical lottery winners. Most new winners plan at least one big purchase, like a new car or a new house, but not Dane and Julie Colby. At least they seem like level-headed people that won't end up squandering their new fortune!

Brad Forbes Accidentally Wins A Lot Of Money

Brad Forbes - Accidentally Wins MoneyHave you ever been at the store, lining up to pay for something, and witnessed somebody wanting to cancel their lottery ticket that they just had printed? There are many different reasons why people end up canceling lottery tickets, but it's usually because the retailer printed out the wrong game. Anyway, I'm going to give you a little tip - Don't ever let anybody cancel a ticket; just buy it yourself. Why? I've heard of a few stories about people not wanting their ticket (Either canceling them or letting somebody else take them) and then those tickets end up being big winners.

Here's an example of this happening - A man named Brad Forbes, from Newport News, Virginia, was in a local store when the retailer told him that the guy that was just in there left two "Win For Life" lotto tickets without paying for them. So Brad, deciding to help out the clerk, paid for the tickets and took them with him. What do you think happened next? Of course, Brad won big money. He actually won a lot of money, literally accidentally because he didn't even intend to play the lottery that day. In fact, Brad says that he is only a casual lottery player.

The Win For Life game that Brad Forbes won on has a top prize of $1000 a week for life. The second prize is $52,000. Both of Brad's tickets actually won the second prize. That means that he won $104,000 in total. Unbelievable!

When asked what he planned to do with the money that he accidentally won, Brad said that he hoped to do some good deeds with it.

Christopher Shaw - Biggest Ever MO Powerball Winner ($258 Million)

Christopher Shaw - MO Powerball WinnerOn April, 21, 2010, Christopher Shaw bought a couple of Powerball tickets. Little did he know that he would, subsequently, become the biggest ever lottery winner in MO history. But that he is - He is now $258 million richer, thanks to the Powerball lottery!

People that know Christopher Shaw say that he is a great guy and are happy that it happened to him. Christopher's happy for himself too! He was born poor and had been struggling to pay off his bills. In fact, he had less than $30 in his bank account when he bought those Powerball tickets. Now, he is just relieved that he'll be able to pay those bills!

What's first on the list for this now rich man? Well, he wants new front teeth! He had lost his two front teeth because he didn't properly care for them. Now he could afford to buy new ones! They're gonna look great!

At the time of his win, Christopher was living in Alton, Missouri and working for minimum wage at a convenience store. In fact, he had only been there for three weeks prior to winning the lottery. It is the same store where he bought the winning ticket. His girlfriend actually called him to tell him that she heard that someone from his store had bought the winning ticket. So Christopher checked his ticket and that's when he found out that it was him! Ironically, the biggest Powerball winner in MO history hasn't even decided if he will be quitting his minimum wage job at the convenience store; he might just keep working there.

Aside from the new front teeth, Christopher Shaw also plans to use the money to take his kids, and his girlfriends' kids, to Disney World.

Vancouver Lottery Winner Jeong-Jong Joe

Jeong-jong Joe - Vancouver Lottery WinnerMost immigrants that come to North America do so in search of a better life. I don't know why Jeong-Jong Joe immigrated to Vancouver from his native Korea, but I assume a better quality of life was part of the equation. Little did he know, though, that just a few short years after moving to Vancouver, he would win a big lottery jackpot. But he did!

Jeong-Jong Joe won a Lotto 649 jackpot totaling $15,668,263 just four years after he moved to Canada and won it with just a single quick pick ticket. Welcome to Canada Jeong-Jong Joe!

This is how Jeong-Jong Joe described the big win: "I was at my shop and checked the ticket on the Internet. I couldn't believe it and called my wife at home. She double-checked the numbers and we calmed each other down. I suddenly felt physically cold and had to turn up the heat in my shop."

Jeong-Jong Joe seems like a simple man. When asked how his life would change following the big win, he replied that he and his wife just want to live regularly, although the money will allow for them to take more trips to Korea to visit family.

Aside from the trips to Korea, he also said that he planned to buy a new house. Beyond that, there was no other plans for spending the money.

He worked as a sales rep for an adhesives manufacturer for 26 years. During that time, he was able to make some smart investments that allowed him and his family to live comfortably.

Then, about a year ago, all of that changed. He got laid off from his job, the job that he was doing for the last 26 years. Life changes when you get laid off. He and his family were able to scrape by, thanks in part to the investments that he had made. However, that couldn't hold them forever. About 3 months ago, the family had to disconnect the household phone to save some money because sacrifices needed to be made.

Even with the turmoil of not working, Terry Hamilton had a dream of winning the lottery. He still managed to buy tickets; he bought whenever the jackpot got high enough. On April 10, 2010, the Megabucks jackpot in Oregon was $9 million. Terry bought some tickets with a pool of friends. Then, on a whim, he bought another ticket just for himself. Guess what? Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous Lottery Winners - Boredom

Sandra Fosbrooke - Rich And FamousWhat would happen if you bought a lotto ticket for a big jackpot and then you, subsequently, find out that you're the winner? Usually, it starts off like this - You initially feel shock that you actually won, but then you come to terms with it. You realize that you are about to become rich and famous. When you go to claim your prize, you know that their will be media there and your story and picture will be splashed all over the news. You will get through that and then the rest of your life will be amazing. There will be luxury cars, big houses, yachts, and exotic vacations. You will be living the lifestyle of the rich and famous!

Then, soon enough, there will be boredom. It happens for many people. It is sometimes a shock to the system for people that spend their time working and then, suddenly, never have to work again. It gets boring not having to do anything.

That's what happened to Sandra Fosbrooke. She and her partner, Ken Henry, won a £12.8 million ($19,438,301 USD) lotto jackpot in May of 2005. When she won, she was 48-years-old and working in a supermarket. She described the initial win as shocking. She said that she did not plan on going back to work after her lottery win. She planned to buy a new house in her village and also a villa in Spain. She planned to travel the world. It was going to be one of the greatest lifestyles ever!

Sandra Fosbrooke did everything that she said she was going to do. But then boredom kicked in. She said that you can only travel so much before it gets boring. So she stayed at home with nothing to do. Then she learned that the local pub was going to be shut down and she decided to buy it and work there. That would give her something to do! Now she works 12 hour days at her pub.

Can you imagine being a big lottery winner and working 12 hour days? You dream about winning the lottery so that you don't have to work so hard and, yet, some people end up working again.

S. Gayle - Winner Of Jamaica's Supreme Ventures Lotteries Lotto Game

S. Gayle - Jamaica Lottery WinnerThe picture to the left is that of a man from Jamaica named S. Gayle. He won a big Lotto jackpot from Supreme Ventures Lotteries, the lottery provider for Jamaica. You might be looking at the picture of S. Gayle and be thinking to yourself that this must be some kind of joke. I know that the date today is April 1, but this ain't no April Fool's joke; it's just a coincidence.

Supreme Venture Lotteries is not releasing the full name of the man; he is only known as S. Gayle. He was wearing a disguise in the photo so that he could keep his privacy and, also, for his own safety - After all, this isn't North America or The U.K., it's Jamaica.

The prize that S. Gayle won in the Lotto was $240 million Jamaican dollars. That works out to 2,713,397 USD, making it one of the biggest lottery jackpots ever in Jamaica.

S. Gayle was identified as the winner of the big Jamaican jackpot on March 31, 2010. But the draw was actually about a month prior to that. He waited a month to claim his winnings so that he could take some time to relax and sort himself out.

S. Gayle said that he planned to use his winnings to invest in real estate and farming.

Congratulations To Lottery Winners Irene Faria And Grace Martins

Irene Faria And Grace Martins - CongratulationsCongratulations to Irene Faria And Grace Martins. They are a mother and daughter team that played the lottery together and won together! They won $9,039,859 on the Lotto 649 draw on Saturday, April 10, 2010.

About two years ago, Irene Faria And Grace Martins bought a Quick Pick Lotto 649 ticket together. Ever since that day, they had been replaying the same numbers from that original Quick Pick ticket that they originally bought. They played those numbers on every draw. Finally, after two years of trying, their numbers came up and the won the jackpot! I've never heard of anybody choosing their numbers that way before; it's quite original. Usually people either play their own sentimental numbers or they just get a different Quick Pick each time. But hey, it worked for Irene and Grace and congratulations to them on their luck!

At the time of their win, Irene Faria And Grace Martins lived in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, which is about an hour west of Toronto. Irene was 71-years-old and Grace was 39-years-old.

So what do the mother and daughter plan to do with their money? They don't want to live lavishly or anything like that. They mainly just want to help out their entire family, financially. And, it's a big family too - Irene has six children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. That's a big family! Here is how Grace describes it: "Our family is very close and we want to be able to help everyone out as much as we can, "We're not thinking about fancy cars or expensive things — I'm happy with my house and what I have in life already. Family is more important to both of us."

Rich Koenigsfeld Is A Nervous Wreck After Winning $1 Million In Lottery

Rich Koenigsfeld - Nervous WreckRich Koenigsfeld won $1 million in the lottery. When asked he he felt about that, he replied that he was a nervous wreck. Ya, winning the lottery could do that to you!

At his press conference at Iowa Lottery's headquarters to announce him as the winner, Rich Koenigsfeld brought a picture of his family. That's because he's had a string of personal losses. His wife, Dian, was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2009. Soon after, the family had a get-together as a show of support for Dian. Three days after the get-together, Rich's son died in a construction accident. This was devastating to the entire family. His son's wife was also pregnant at the time. That's when Dian set a goal to stay alive long enough to see her grand-daughter be born. Unfortunately, she never made it; she passed away about a month ago.

In April of 2010, as a tribute to his wife, Rich spent an entire day planting his Dian's favorite flowers. They were together spiritually that day. After a long day's work, Rich decided to try his luck at the casino. He won some money. He won $325. He used some of those winnings to buy to instant scratch lottery tickets. One of those two tickets was a winner. Rich won $1 million. Rich believes that his wife had something to do with him winning the money.

It's a great day when you win the lottery. However, no money could ever replace the tragic losses that Rich Koenigsfeld had recently had to endure.

What does Rich plan to do with all of the money that he won? "As far as my winnings go, it's nice, but I'm not an extravagant spender. I'll never be an extravagant spender. I do plan on going to Germany with my brother. My kids will get a nice Christmas present this year."
